Synopsis
Charlie, une jeune cadre célibataire et dynamique, est prête à tout pour réussir. C'est la raison pour laquelle elle ment à son patron, Edward Walcott, en lui affirmant qu'elle vit au sein d'une famille parfaite. Un mensonge utile puisque ce dernier lui offre une promotion. Mais la situation se gâte lorsque Charlie invite Edward chez elle pour un dîner afin de faire plus ample connaissance. La jeune femme dispose alors de peu de temps pour trouver une maison, une fille et un mari. Son amie, Stacy, lui apporte les deux premiers éléments, alors que pour le mari, Charlie fait appel à un comédien qui jouera l'époux parfait le temps d'une soirée. Mais la situation devient ingérable lorsque son patron lui annonce qu'ils vont être voisins.
Plot :
After her company was taken over, Charlie Mackenzie has the right profile to get her old executive job back, except that her new boss Ed(ward) Walcott insists on being a 'family company', so when he thinks she's wearing a wedding ring (which just got stuck when she tried it on) she dares not tell him the truth. When she has to invite that boss and his wife, she hires actor Buck Maddockx to pretend being her husband Frank, the father of her (actually the friend who lend her a fine house) daughter Nicole, without any rehearsal. They get by with some daring lies, but then the Walcotts decide to rent the house next door while their Malibu residence is being remodeled...
